Topic: The Three New Criminal Laws

Announcement: The India Foundation’s Roundtable Discussion on the Three New Criminal Law Legislations is scheduled for July 19th. It will focus on an overarching discussion of the new legislations: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023; the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023; and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. These laws, replacing the colonial-era Penal Code, Evidence Act, and Code of Criminal Procedure, signify a pivotal shift towards a contemporary and efficient criminal justice system. The event aims to engage legal professionals and stakeholders in a critical examination of these legislative changes.
