10th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference
04-06 Jan 2027, Gujarat, India
Theme: Dharma-Dhamma in Deep Tech Age: Science, Society and Governance

India Foundation, in collaboration with the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, is organising the 10th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference in Gujarat, India, from 04-06 January 2027. The theme of the conference is “Dharma-Dhamma in Deep Tech Age: Science, Society and Governance”. The conference will explore how the enduring insights of Dharma-Dhamma traditions can guide humanity through an era of rapid scientific and technological change. Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, quantum computing, nanotechnology, hypersonic propulsion, electromagnetic power generation, data science, and other frontier technologies are revolutionising the ways we produce and consume, learn and teach, live and interact, organise our economies, and govern our societies. Deep tech is also opening up extraordinary opportunities for human progress. However, it also compels us to confront deep questions about ethics, dignity, equality, privacy, responsibility, ecological balance, and the concentration of power, especially the power to harm, destroy and kill,  in the deep tech age.

The conference seeks to create a robust interface between Dharma-Dhamma thought and contemporary discourses on science, society, and governance, and it will explore how values like compassion, wisdom, self-control, interdependence, justice, and the ideal of universal welfare can inform and guide scientific research, technological innovation, social conduct and public policy. In this context, India Foundation invites religious leaders, scholars, scientists, philosophers, technologists, policymakers, and practitioners of Dharmic traditions to submit original abstracts and papers that examine these questions from historical, philosophical, scientific, social, legal and policy-making perspectives. Through an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas, the conference hopes to distill ethical principles and chart practical policies for deep technology development to promote human welfare, reinforce social harmony, and support just, responsible, and accountable governance in India and the world. The Sub-themes of the conference are mentioned below:
